MEET THE 2024 ALMOND QUEEN PAGEANT CONTESTANTS
Nyeema Figueroa
Nyeema Figueroa lives in Esparto. Her parents are Angela Smith and Eugenio Figueroa. She has one brother, Alex Smith. Nyeema is a member of Junior State of America, FFA, ASB, The National Honor Society and is a Volunteer for Kaiser Permanente. Nyeema is the president of the National Honor Society, has been the treasurer for the Junior State of America, and earned the Spartan Honor Roll. She has volunteered at the Almond Festival Breakfast and has been a judge for the Esparto Elementary School Science Fair. In the future, Nyeema plans to attend a UC and major in Biology to become a Dermatology Physician Assistant. In her spare time, she enjoys baking, cooking, traveling and ice skating. Nyeema is participating in the Almond Queen pageant to fulfill a childhood goal and dream of competing in a pageant. Nyeema has always admired the Almond Queen and looked forward to the day she could compete for the title. She is passionate about our community and would use the title of Almond Queen to create more community service opportunities for Middle and High School students.

Victoria Hernandez
Victoria Hernandez lives in Esparto. Her parents are Anita Perry and Diego Hernandez. She has three siblings: Jessica, Melanie and Diego. Victoria is a Member of ASB, has been class treasurer for three years and plays Volleyball. She is Sparty, the school mascot and does the morning announcements. Victoria is a teacher's assistant for the community schools program. She has completed the CTE Culinary Pathway and takes a Psychology course at Woodland Community College as part of the Dual Enrollment program. Victoria has been awarded student of the month twice, was MVP in volleyball and has received the Excellent Education Award from Rise Inc.. In her spare time, Victoria enjoys reading, listening to music and hanging out with friends. In the future, she plans to attend Woodland Community College to become an elementary school teacher. She currently works at Rise Inc. and that has shown her how much she enjoys helping students. Victoria is participating in the Almond Queen Pageant to build a better connection with her community, which she cares for deeply.

Alexis Prado
Alexis Prado lives in Esparto with her parents Angelica and Ricardo. She has two siblings: Isabel and Adan. Alexis is an English Language Development Tutor and plays Soccer and Cross Country at Esparto High School. She also plays Club soccer and was an assistant coach for the Esparto Middle School Soccer team. Alexis has earned All League, MVP and Scholar Athlete for Cross Country. She was the captain of the EHS Soccer team all four years and has been awarded player of the year and attack MVP in addition to many honors in Club Soccer. In the future, Alexis plans to attend either a UC or CSU and major in Biology before going on to Medical School. She would like to earn her PhD and become a pediatrician as she has a passion for caring for children. In her spare time, she enjoys playing soccer, and enjoying a good meal with family and friends. Alexis is participating in the Almond Queen pageant because she feels she would be a great representation of the Almond Queen.
